Violet Evergarden

Especially nowadays, we see many anime series about the future, or maybe even the present. Many series tend to forget about the past. What if there was a way to make a series about the past, using modern animation, loving characters, an addictive opening theme, drama and romance.

This wonderful combination is exactly what Violet Evergarden is about. When it premiered on Netflix early last year, it began to get a lot of traction because of its interesting plot and beautiful visuals.

When I tell you that at times during this series, I was genuinely feeling the characters' emotions, I was worried for what would happen to Violet, what would happen if the war continued on, I am telling you guys the truth.

This series goes back into the past when the world is at war, and follows the story of a former soldier named Violet Evergarden who is trying to find the answer to her question, "What is love?" As the series goes on, we see Violet's behaviour and feelings progress as we see her working as an Auto Memoir Service Doll (A person who would type out letters and deliver them during the war).

The series uncovers a lot about Violet's sad and dismal past with her former general Gilbert Bougainvillea. I don't want to go too much into detail about the plot, as to not spoil any further info for you guys, but if you have not seen this series, go watch it now, I promise that you will enjoy it!

If one were to ask me how I would describe the series Violet Evergarden in one word, that word would be, 'beautiful'. Everything about this series is absolutely breathtaking. From the animation visuals, to the opening and ending themes, the characters as well as the voice acting and sound quality. This series is only 14 episodes, so if you guys still have not seen it, binge-watch it. It is quite the emotional rollercoaster!
