Tsuki Ga Kirei (As the Moon, so Beautiful)
Do you guys remember middle school? Do you ever miss those carefree, long and stress-free days?
Remember those amusing and charming friends? If you answered yes to these questions, Tsuki Ga Kirei is the anime for you!
Tsuki ga Kirei is a middle school romance and slice of life/drama series which is not the most popular romance series of all time, but it is enjoyable and fun to watch after a hard day of school or work since its storyline is quite relaxing and it gives off a calm and laid back emotion.
The main storyline of the series is the romance between Akane and Azumi, two middle school students in Japan. Although most middle school relationships are quite boring and temporary, this series keeps this relationship fresh, by introducing themes and obstacles presented by other friends or classmates as well as how school plays an important part in maintaining a relationship.
I personally enjoyed this series because it seemed nostalgic and it reminded myself of a better, more enjoyable time in my life. The plot twists presented in this series are also quite amusing from time to time.
The characters are mostly well-rounded and are fairly prominent in the show, but I would have personally liked to see more into their lives as well, to see how this relationship between Akane and Azumi impacted their school lives.
Overall, I would recommend this anime to anyone interested in slice of life or romance, or is just getting started developing an interest in these genres of anime. This series kept me guessing what would happen next, and that's a factor that I thoroughly enjoy especially in romance/slice of life and school based anime series.
Final Score: 8.8/10
