Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai (Bunny Girl Senpai)
Have you ever wondered about mixing two opposite genres to create a fantastic show? What if those genres were slice of life/romance and psychological? How would the series turn out?
Bunny Girl Senpai is a slice of life/romance show with a heavy influence on psychology as well as perception. The series is about a high school boy, Sakuta who notices a girl wearing a bunny rabbit costume at the library. The girl is ignored by everyone else and Sakuta begins to wonder why, and becomes friends with this girl who was a well-known celebrity before people began to forget about her and ignore her.
We find out that the majority of characters in the series are impacted by a disorder known as Puberty Syndrome (Abnormal experiences caused by instability and sensitivity during adolescence). As Sakuta and his new 'bunny girl' friend, whose name is Mai become friends, they develop a liking for each other and decide that they want to start a relationship.
The series progresses to show how the characters become impacted by Puberty Syndrome in some way, which is one of the major things I loved about this series. Drama and chaos in the characters' lives arises quite rapidly and I never found myself waiting for the show to progress.
Although this show has some mixed reviews online, I think that this show does a pretty good job at melding multiple genres into a relaxed and interesting anime.
I would recommend this series to someone with an interest in the slice of life/romance genres as well as psychological anime. This anime does a great job at standing out from the other romance/slice of life anime out there!
Final Score: 9/10
