Domestic Na Kanojo (Domestic Girlfriend)

Domestic Na Kanojo became one of the most popular anime series for winter 2019, but not because of its characters or their personalities. It became extremely popular because of its intense and captivating plot and spicy drama which makes every episode feel suspenseful.

This genre of student and teacher is quite controversial in the anime community, but this show made quite an exception mainly because it included another 'relationship' in the midst of it all.

The series is about a teenage boy named Natuo Fujii who is desperately in love with his teacher Hina. After he attends a mixer, a girl names Rui sneaks off with him and sleeps with him. A few days later, Natsuo's father announces that he is re-marrying. It turns out that Hina and Rui are sisters and their mother married Natsuo's father, making them all siblings. Regardless, Natsuo cannot hold his emotions in for long. He now has to deal with his parents as well as his new siblings (both of whom he desires to some degree). The series is about how he deals with his new dilemma and how the drama between these main three characters plays out.

Personally, I found this show quite interesting and I enjoyed its very 'spicy' drama which led me to continue watching this series. I also couldn't get the opening theme song out of my head (seriously, you haven't lived until you have heard this song).  My favourite part of this show was how Natsuo recuperates himself into writing a novel after Hina disappears. We get to see Natsuo's resolve near the end of the series when this happens as well.

I would recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a major plot twist in a show, or to anyone who enjoys drama. If you are the type of person who likes these genres along with some romance, then you should really give this show a try, it will impress you. 

Overall, this series was funny and enjoyable to watch and I liked the drama present in this show. A bit more character development and this series would have received a perfect score! But nonetheless, it was a rollercoaster of an anime and one of my favorites from the winter 2019 season.
